John joined Chambliss & Rabil in October 2018 with over 25 years of development experience, bringing his vast knowledge of vendor management, cost containment and customer/client relations to the Chambliss & Rabil team.
 
Prior to joining Chambliss & Rabil, John served as the Downtown Development Manager, for the City of Rocky Mount, where he focused on economic development and business retention for the Central City. During this time John built a large portfolio of clients who represent landowners, builders, developers and investors alike. Earlier John had a long career with Wachovia Bank where he oversaw implementation of the bank’s expansion when it moved into new territories and was responsible for its growth strategy. The program was successful in positioning Wachovia as a market leader, a community partner and overall, place to work. As an experienced development manager responsible for leading projects through concept, design, contract negotiations, due diligence, financial analyses, construction completion and related process management activities, provides John a unique perspective and level of experience in his current role. John is a licensed NC Real Estate Broker and an alumnus of UNC Charlotte and East Carolina University, where he studied Construction Management. John is a graduate of Leadership Rocky Mount and serves on the statewide executive board of directors for the North Carolina Downtown Development Association.
